We need to adjust the credit hours for Practicum required in this course to appropriately represent the amount of field work in comparison to the internship course. It should be 3 credits for 100 hours practicum experience.

Sample Course Outline16 weeksThe order of presentation of the general topics is expected to be essentially the same for all sections of the course. The rate at which each section progresses through the curriculum, however, will often vary. It is assumed that the progression rate is a function of: (1) the stage of proficiency of basic counseling skills of individual group members, (2) the stage of development of the supervision group, and (3) the level of counselor professional development of the novice counselors in any given Practicum section.

In addition to the general topics, each supervision section leader will also cover topics, which they personally may have found to be very useful in the past. In general, the majority of class time in the first few sessions of ECD 642 will be devoted to basic skill development through videotaped role plays and subsequent critiques. Later classes tend to be devoted to case presentations and professional issues.

ghodge 11/11/2015 10 hours per week is appropriate for a 3 credit hour practicum. 100% for each evaluation method is okay since all are required to receive a S grade. Student learning outcomes need to be rewritten and simplified. Maybe something like " Upon completion of the practicum the student will be able to: Apply discipline or content specific knowledge in a workplace setting." return to department for edits.
