Theatre (Minor)
To see more about what you will learn in this program, visit the Learning Outcomes website!
University Theatre offers an academic minor in theatre to all NC State undergraduate degree-seeking students. The minor includes a combination of courses that emphasize performance and production practices while exploring theatre in a historical, theoretical, and practical context. There are opportunities for advanced study in performance, production, and design. No courses for the minor may be taken for S/U credit.
Admissions and Certification of Minor
For admission and certification of the Theatre Minor, students should contact Mia Self, 201 Thompson Hall, 515-3147. The minor must be completed no later than the semester in which the student expects to graduate from their degree program. Paperwork for certification should be completed during the registration period for the student’s final semester at NC State.
To be admitted to the program, a student must have a GPA of at least 2.0. Application for admission to any University minor program is now available via MyPack Portal. Admission will be based upon the student’s academic record, and in most cases, no longer requires departmental review.
