Mathematics (Minor)

The Department of Mathematics offers a minor in Mathematics to majors in any field except Mathematics. The minor program consists of the completion with a grade of C- or better of any fifteen hours selected from the Mathematics Department's list of approved courses. The list includes all MA courses at the 300, 400, and 500 levels; however, MA 225 is acceptable but not required.

To be admitted to the program, a student must have a GPA of at least 2.0. Application for admission to any University minor program is now available via MyPack Portal. Admission will be based upon the student’s academic record, and in most cases no longer requires departmental review. Go to Add a Minor to apply.

Plan Requirements

Prerequisite to the Mathematics minor: Students must complete one (1) of the two (2) basic calculus sequences, as shown below, with a grade of ‘C’ or better in each course.

The minor program consists of the successful completion with a grade of ‘C-‘ or better in all 15 hours selected from the Mathematics Department’s list of approved courses. The list includes MA 225 Foundations of Advanced Mathematics as well as any MA courses at the 300, 400 and 500 levels.
